Resurfacing following a two year period of silence that witnessed a changing world, Slow Meadow presents Slow Meadow Reworks, seven re-imaginings of songs from 2019’s Happy Occident by composers, musicians, and producers selected by Matt Kidd for their unique visions of ambient music and its transportive qualities. Both a reflection on the attention saturation of modern life and a means to escape it, Happy Occident immersed listeners in serene meditative melodies where soft alien tones unsettle accepted tenets of reality. Seeing the tender and surreal soundscapes of Happy Occident from new vantage points, the songs on Slow Meadow Reworks begin journeys anew, starting from familiar places but travelling different paths through atmospheres awash in wonder, nostalgia, and hope.

After working as a touring / session musician since the early 2000s, Matt took a serious interest in creating music focused less on performance and more on inner experience.
